PRIVACY POLICY · PRE-LAUNCH DRAFT
Privacy comes before the first hello.
Last updated 7 September 2026
This draft describes the intended MVP and must be approved before external student testing.
1. What we collect
NTUMatch’a may collect your NTU student email, authentication records, anonymous Match’a ID, profile choices, optional country and voice profile, voice messages, greetings, conversation activity, notification settings, device notification tokens, private Telegram username and consent choices, safety reports, and basic technical logs.
The website waitlist is currently closed. Its disabled form does not collect or send any details.
2. How we use it
We use this information to verify NTU eligibility, operate anonymous matching and time-limited conversations, deliver voice messages and notifications, reveal Telegram usernames only after mutual consent, respond to safety concerns, prevent abuse, and maintain the service.
3. What other students can see
Matched students can see your anonymous Match’a ID, fixed avatar, the profile information you choose to share, and voice content you send. They do not see your NTU email, authentication information, or Telegram username before mutual reveal. One-sided Telegram consent reveals nothing.
4. Retention and deletion
Active account and profile data remains available while your account is active. When a conversation expires, you leave or block, an account is deleted, or a sent message is deleted, affected data becomes inaccessible to students immediately. The MVP privately retains affected account data, conversation metadata, voice recordings, and safety evidence for 30 days, then permanently deletes it. Non-identifying aggregate signup counts may remain.
5. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. We may use infrastructure providers for hosting, databases, file storage, email verification, and push notifications only as needed to operate NTUMatch’a. Telegram is a separate third-party service with its own terms and privacy practices.
6. Your choices
You can update optional profile information and notification preferences, withhold Telegram consent, delete eligible sent messages, and delete your account through the app. Account deletion immediately revokes access and starts the retention period described above.
